Hochfügen ski resort in Zillertal likes to give disadvantaged children a taste of the joy of skiing, offering them a wonderful holiday in the mountains. Over the past 9 years, children supported by the global charity SOS Children’s Villages have been invited to Hochfügen. The “Schneetigers” have been visiting the ski resort for a year now. Several “Schneetiger” groups are already planning skiing days in Hochfügen.

“Schneetigers”love Hochfügen

The “Schneetiger” group is a sub-organization of the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation, an international foundation that helps children to take their lives into their own hands, set goals and achieve them.

As the “Schneetigers” were so impressed by Hochfügen and above all the easy access to the Lamark ski lifts, they came to Hochfügen twice last season. These physically and mentally disabled children are already planning to come back next season. One of the highlights of their visit was a day with Anna Katharina Schaffelhuber, a successful German monoskibob rider, who came to the camp and enjoyed herself greatly on the slopes with the kids.

Ski holidays in Zillertal for children supported by the SOS Children's Villages charity

From 2009 to 2016, the Hochfügen ski resort in the Zillertal invited a total of six SOS Children's Village groups to spend a week skiing in Zillertal, providing them with free ski passes, meals, accommodation and a visit to a thermal bath. The project was co-financed by a € 2 extra contribution to the costs of their ski passes, which guests in Hochfügen could freely donate.
